HUD Announces $5.5 Billion in CDBG, HOME, ESG, Other Grants

HUD is making available nearly $5.5 billion in funding for 2,400 grants aimed at mitigating local funding needs. These annual formula grants are being made through the following HUD programs:  

  • $3.3 billion for Community Development Block Grants 
  • $1.3 billion for the Home Investment Partnerships Program 
  • $455 million for Housing Opportunities for Persons With HIV/AIDS 
  • $290 million for Emergency Solutions Grants 
  • $30 million for the Recovery Housing Program 
  • $214 million for the Housing Trust Fund 

Combined, these funds aim to provide critical funding for communities’ local programs alongside supporting renters and increasing housing affordability. Communities may find local grantees on the HUD Exchange website.
