Today HUD awarded $3.17 billion in Public Housing Repair funding to 2,756 PHAs in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. These funds are available for PHAs to make capital investments in their public housing stock. To see all the local grants announced today, click here.

The grants are provided through HUD's Capital Fund Program, which offers annual funding to all public housing authorities to build, renovate, and/or modernize the public housing in their communities. PHAs can utilize this funding for the development, financing, modernization, and management improvements of public housing developments, or activities such as replacing roofs, making energy-efficient upgrades to heating systems and installing water conservation measures.
