CLPHA Update

Dear CLPHA Member:

In advance of today’s hearing of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Insurance, Housing and Community Opportunity, which will focus on a revision of the Section Eight Savings Act (SESA) and a discussion draft of the Moving-to-Work Improvement, Expansion, and Permanency Act of 2011, CLPHA has circulated the attached paper to members of the Committee. We prepared the paper in response to a recent paper by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities opposing the expansion of MTW.

Today’s hearing at 2 PM will include testimony from CLPHA members Kris Warren, Chief Operating Officer for the Chicago Housing Authority, and Greg Russ, Executive Director of the Cambridge Housing Authority, as well as from Hope Bolden, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Human Development Division of the Integral Group LLC, a key partner of the Atlanta Housing Authority.
