In response to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) fiscal year (FY) 2025 Budget Proposal released earlier this month, CLPHA, the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO), the Public Housing Authorities Directors Association (PHADA), the Local Housing Administrators Coalition (LHAC), and the MTW Collaborative released our joint funding recommendations for fiscal year FY25.
Among other requests, we urge HUD to fully fund the Public Housing Fund including $5 billion for the Capital Fund, $5.838 billion for the Operating Fund, and $377 million to address the Operating Fund shortfall. Furthermore, we requested $150 million for the Choice Neighborhoods Initiative (CNI), $100 million for the Rental Assistance Demonstration, and $241 million for Incremental Vouchers, as these programs received decreased or zero funding in FY24.
Attached is the FY25 joint funding request, the separate FY25 CLPHA funding request, and the FY25 comparative funding chart.
