CLPHA Contributes to New Sesame Street Programming on Family Homelessness

Date Published:
December 13th, 2018

Over the past year, CLPHA and the Housing Is initiative have been pleased to serve on Sesame Workshop’s Advisory Council to help inform and plan materials related to children and families experiencing homelessness. As a result of this work, Sesame Street Workshop launched Sesame Street in Communities: Family Homelessness to bring awareness and support to young children and their parents who are experiencing homelessness, and those who serve them, including early childhood programs, schools, and service providers. Lily, a sweet and resilient 7-year-old muppet whose family experienced homelessness, is featured throughout the new resources, which include a storybook, videos, activities, and materials for providers.

On December 13 at 4pm ET, Sesame Street in Communities will host a panel to raise nationwide awareness about homelessness, its effects on children, and ways providers can help.
