From the Toledo Blade:

The Lucas County Metropolitan Housing Authority has received nearly $1 million in grant funding to identify and reduce lead-based paint hazards.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development on Monday awarded $970,225 to the local housing authority as part of a total $27.8 million in grants to 38 public housing agencies in 25 states. The funds come from HUD’s Public Housing Capital Fund and are aimed at about 2,800 public housing units, most of which house families with young children, according to a news release Tuesday.
