From LA Sentinel:
On Friday, August 25, the Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) announced an award of $35,758,748 to the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) from the Infill Infrastructure Grant Program – Catalytic Qualifying Infill Area (IIGC).
The objective of the IIGC program is to promote infill housing development by providing financial assistance for Capital Improvement Projects that are an integral part of, or necessary to facilitate, the development of affordable and mixed income housing.
Recognizing the opportunity to bring key funding to large, catalytic, deeply affordable housing projects in the City of Los Angeles, HACLA led an application for five multi-family rental projects and two homeownership opportunities spanning the geography of the City.
These projects represent partnerships between HACLA and nine private developers to build 665 new units of housing over the next few years; 75 homeownership and 590 rental units. The majority of the units will serve households at or below 50% AMI with the balance serving low to moderate income households.

“HACLA is thrilled to continue our partnership with the State of California to deliver transformational affordable housing to the residents of the City of Los Angeles through the Infill Infrastructure Grant program,” said HACLA President and CEO Doug Guthrie.
“The Catalytic Qualifying Infill Area designation represents a quantum leap forward and generates tremendous economies of scale by allowing multiple critical projects to move forward under a single funding award.”
