HUD Announces $157 Million to Address Housing-Related Hazards and Lead-Based Paint

CLPHA Members Receive over $26.9 Million in Awards

HUD announced a total of $157 million in awards to PHAs for remediating housing-related hazards such as lead-based paint, carbon monoxide, mold, radon, fire safety, and asbestos. The 20 awards for lead-based paint and 54 awards for other housing-related hazards will also help PHAs prepare for the implementation of the National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE).

Seven CLPHA members received awards under this announcement. CLPHA extends its congratulations to: 

  • Sacramento Housing & Redevelopment Agency: $5,000,000  
  • Los Angeles County Development Authority: $4,800,000 
  • Boston Housing Authority: $1,631,000  
  • Durham Housing Authority: $1,128,800 
  • New York City Housing Authority: $4,830,042  
  • Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority: $4,998,091 
  • Opportunity Home San Antonio: $4,516,200
