HUD Awards Additional $486M in CoC Grants, $43M in Stability Vouchers

18 Members Invited to Accept Stability Voucher Awards

Today, HUD announced a second round of CoC grants and Stability Vouchers to communities to address unsheltered homelessness, adding to the first set of grant awards announced in February. The awards include $171.2 million in grants for 115 new projects in 29 Continuum of Care (CoC) communities, bringing the total value of grants to $486 million in 62 CoC communities.

As part of this announcement, HUD is inviting 139 PHAs who partnered with CoC grantee communities to accept approximately 3,300 Stability Vouchers. The Stability Voucher awards total $43 million and are in addition to the Stability Vouchers announced in February. Interested PHAs were provided an opportunity to register interest in receiving an allocation of Stability Vouchers in PIH Notice 2022-24, which was published in August 2022. CLPHA members that have been invited to accept Stability Vouchers include:  

  • Alaska Housing Finance Corporation 
  • Oakland Housing Authority
  • Los Angeles County Development Agency
  • Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles
  • Housing Authority of the City of New Haven
  • Miami-Dade Public Housing and Community Development
  • Chicago Housing Authority
  • Fort Wayne Housing Authority
  • Louisville Metro Housing Authority
  • Housing Authority of New Orleans
  • Boston Housing Authority
  • Housing Authority of Kansas City, MO
  • New York City Housing Authority
  • New York City Department of Housing Preservation & Development
  • Home Forward
  • Opportunity Home San Antonio
  • Housing Authority of the City of Austin
  • Yakima Housing Authority 

These incremental Stability Vouchers will target individuals and families that are either a) Experiencing or are at-risk of homelessness; b) Those fleeing or attempting to flee domestic violence dating violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, stalking, and; c) Veterans and families that include a veteran family member that meets one of the proceeding criteria.
