HUD announced $800,000 in funding for Foster Youth to Independence (FYI) initiative at 18 PHAs in 12 different states, including three CLPHA members: Housing Authority of Snohomish County, Durham Housing Authority, and Wilmington, DE Housing Authority. This funding opportunity will fund 84 vouchers across these three PHAs to assist former foster youths experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. Under the FYI initiative, housing vouchers will be provided to youth aged 18-24 (who have not reached their 25th birthday) who have left foster care or will leave foster care within 90 days. The vouchers are non-competitive and awarded on a rolling basis.
